The grapes for this Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested from four of Ridgeline Vineyards six unique vineyard blocks. Planted to the five classic Bordeaux varietals, which are all present in this wine, this property provides remarkable conditions for cultivating site-specific, terrior-driven Cabernet Sauvignon resulting in wines of power, sophistication and complexity, that display focused currant and blackberry fruit with abundant spice, complemented by chocolate notes and nuances of caramelly oak.
On the nose, the scent of cassis, blueberries and red currants mingles with sweet notes of toffee, cinnamon and milk chocolate. True to its Alexander Valley roots, the wine is smooth and supple on the entry, with bright red berry flavors and lively, natural acidity boosting the overall intensity. Soft, silky tannins provide texture and structure, while subtle oak notes of caramel and cedar linger long in the scrumptious finish. A classic single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from our Ridgeline Vineyard.
Identified by a solitary pine tree standing at the center of the vineyard, Lone Pine Vineyard rises to 1,200 feet above the Alexander Valley floor. The vineyard is terraced on its steep upper slopes with each of its eleven separate hillside blocks planted to maximize sun exposure and minimize wind. With production limited by the steep, well-drained clay loam soil, the resulting fruit produces harmonious, full-flavored Cabernet Sauvignons that beautifully express the extraordinary terrior of this exceptional mountain vineyard.
